Community Award 2023 Winner – Under 18 Category

Congratulations to Ella Ratucoko who won our award in the Under 18 Category. Ella decided she wanted to do something for those children worse off than her. Last year she raised £425 by setting up a Justgiving page and donated her hair for the Princess Trust to make a wig for another child to restore their confidence and identity. The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as alopecia. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK. It relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give hair and hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year. In addition to this she often litter picks in the community with her Mum and sisters. Ella is seen in the photo below receiving her award from the Chair of Coity Higher Community Council, Councillor Alan Wathan. Ella was presented with an engraved shield and a gift voucher.
