D-Day 80th Anniversary – Lamp Lights of Peace

By // June 4th, 2024

On Thursday 6th June 2024 Coity Higher Community Council  marked the 80th Anniversary of D-Day.   At 9.15 pm a Lamp Light of Peace was lit in each ward to represent the light of peace’ that emerged from the darkneess of war.  In addition a beacon was lit  in Coity Castle and our flower  planters were filled with red, white and blue flowers for the summer months.

Below are photos of some of Coity Higher Community Council’s councillors who lit their lamps outside the Princess of Wales Hospital in Pendre, the Red Dragon pub at Litchard and at Coity Castle.  After lighting the lamps the councillors set off from their locations and met up in Litchard Fields and walked together to Coity Castle and the lighting of the beacon.
